When this inevitably happens and the result is pointless i bet all the idiots who demanded it will be very silent. The only reason why this is a thing is because One Nation/LNP are desperate and are throwing out one liners in the news to generate some kind of support from the lowest IQs in Australia.
Albanese doesn’t get to decide whether there will be a Commonwealth royal commission or not. It’s going to happen regardless, it’s a matter of when not if. His hand is (rightfully) being forced by inextinguishable unprecedented pressure.
Albanese only gets to decide the terms of reference and even then he will be under intense pressure to make them at the very least satisfactory to the victims’ families and the Jewish community.
We need an RC that summons the individuals linked to institutions, activist groups and political groups/parties that have promoted and/or facilitated antisemitism since 7 October 2023. They will be given a platform, but it’ll be one of shame and humiliation with the threat of heavy penalties.
What’s the harm in wasting a few million giving in to Murdoch and bogan army forces who spam Facebook and TikTok with royal commission comments? Besides our dignity.

There’s another thread today that’s dissecting how the hell the US ended up in a situation where Trump got reelected and where we are now in a world where the Us is threatening to annex Greenland, and a big part of it is because both sides of the extremist pro-Israel and pro-Palestine propaganda machine drove social media election narratives that led to people thinking that voting for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris was somehow an equivalent evil to voting for Trump. It basically played into MAGAs hands when a bunch of voters believed the propaganda and decided to sit the election out, or vote for Trump instead.
This bloody conflict has been used to wedge politics all over the bloody world and Australia is being stupid by continuing to fall prey to it instead of recognizing the game for what it is and changing our strategy. Albo needs to stop playing goddamn nice and bipartisan on everything, taking the high road and trying to negotiate with Liberals isn’t working in this day and age of fascist-feeding media. He needs to call out Ley for what she is and fight back hard against this nonsense narrative.
Good idea because we just have to much money and fuck those hungry kids anyway, free loaders. We are always looking for the right outcome that matches our intentions and unevidenced opinions so this is a good way to ensure a detachment from reality.
We have several intelligence agencies that can do what a commission does as part of their normal work. The fake outrage is boring and inefficient. If the rage was genuine there’d be no DV deaths or racial crime.
I don’t believe that a royal commission is required and see the backing of the call to have one completely political.
If a Royal commission goes ahead then the motivation of the killers need to be examined. Key to that I believe that the following 2 items need to be examined in detail. (In order of priority)
1. How much of the desire to kill was based the hatred of Jews (Anti-semantic) and how much was based on the hatred of Israel, especially their current actions. (If it is determined that hatred of Israel was a significant factor, then additional we need to look at what Australia can do, to protect Australian’s of Jewish faith from the perception that Israel created that Israel = Judaism)
2. How much did the media influence these 2 killers and if it had any influence on them to help get them to the point where they took these actions.
Fairly sure neither of the above will be seriously considered if it goes ahead as the subject of the commission will be determine in advance so that the outcome of it will be able to be known in advance. (E.G. the way to stifle a royal commission is to limit it scope)
