ECHL: Thomas Caron Heads Back To Finland | Inside The Rink

Allen Americans forward Thomas Caron is heading back to Finland to rejoin HPK after putting up four goals and nine assists for 13 points in 30 games with the Americans. Caron, 25, had five goals and two assists for seven points in 15 games last season with HPK. He is the second American to take the overseas route since the season started, joining Kevin Spinozzi.

The Candiac, Quebec, native has spent parts of five seasons in North America, including three of those with the Manitoba Moose in the AHL. In 55 games with the Moose, he put up five goals and five assists for 10 points. Caron has spent the majority of his career in the ECHL, where he’s put up 21 goals and 44 assists for 65 points while spending time with the Trois-Rivières Lions, Norfolk Admirals, Idaho Steelheads, and Allen Americans. He had three goals and three assists for six points in 12 games during the 2024 Kelly Cup Playoffs with Norfolk.

Prior to going pro, Caron spent parts of four seasons in the QMJHL with the Québec Remparts. In 146 games with the Remparts, he put up 31 goals and 41 assists for 72 points, while also seeing action in seven playoff games. During the 2019-20 season, he led the QMJHL with 115 PIMs in 60 games, the same year he served as the captain of the Remparts. He also played in 34 games in the QJHL, where he had 31 goals and 41 assists for 72 points.
