Maltese adventurer Rita Saliba has successfully reached the summit of Mount Aconcagua in Argentina, marking the thrilling completion of her latest expedition, and all in support of Malta’s Association for Abandoned Animals.

The 31-year-old climber set off in December to take on South America’s tallest peak, which towers nearly 7,000 metres above sea level.

After several days of trekking and careful acclimatisation, she pushed through harsh conditions, extreme cold, strong winds, and unpredictable weather to reach the summit safely.

Fans were treated to updates and stories on Instagram along the way, giving a festive peek into her incredible journey.

This isn’t Saliba’s first high-altitude adventure. Over the past two years, she has conquered Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and Mount Elbrus in Russia, showing no signs of slowing down.

From a group of nine climbers, only five completed the ascent, with Saliba standing out as both the sole Maltese participant and the only woman to reach the peak.

Beyond personal achievement, her climb aimed to raise awareness and funds for abandoned animals in Malta, combining daring feats with a heartfelt mission, and she has now completed it in spectacular fashion.
