Slovakia announced its roster for the upcoming Olympic men’s hockey tournament, with some bright young NHL stars headlining the group.
Montreal Canadiens forward Juraj Slafkovsky and New Jersey Devils defenceman Simon Nemec headline the team in the midst of career years. Slafkovsky, the first-overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft, is on pace to set new personal bests in scoring with 15 goals and 33 points through 43 games.
Nemec, the second-overall pick in 2022, has already set a new career high with seven goals and, with 18 points, he is one point away from tying his career-best mark in scoring (19).
Slovakia is in Group B at the tournament with Sweden, Finland and host Italy. The Slovaks open the tournament against Finland on Feb. 11.
