Fucking hell, schrinner is such a tool in his delivery. Everytime he speaks he comes across more and more like an uncaring, arrogant grub.
‘Should’ve been obvious that it would close eventually’
Well, yes, but, things like this take *years*, so having announced it last year shouldn’t automatically mean that people expect a stadium to go up this soon. Since when does council or government build anything big, so efficiently 🤣
Its also expected that there would’ve been a significant time prior to it being closed down, wherein they would’ve stopped making bookings for future functions. Why weren’t Vic Park told far enough ahead of time, so that anyone enquiring for future events could be told that it wasn’t available. Or if they were told, then why were they making bookings?
Any functions scheduled, should be honoured.
Why would the average person know what timeline is getting set aside for this stadium build, and moreso, when they make the reservation why should they expect that their date wouldn’t be set aside, as is the very nature and function of *making a reservation* in the first place? Of course people are going to belive that their function is taking place there, if they’re told that the date is available and it’s set aside for them…
Once again, he comes across a dipshit by his own comments 🙃
Its condesending as hell to shift blame to the people at all, but certainly to comment so flippantly, with a ‘pfft, these guys, amirite?’ attitude, as though it’s the people who are the dicks in this situation.
Edit: Caveat: I’m only going off this one reporting of the events. I’m assuming that quote in there is correct. I’ve not read any other news stories about this, so grain of salt and all that 😅
FWIW This is the email vendors received from Vic Park today.
Unless couples are happy with a mid week wedding, I’d say 12 months is more like the bare minimum to reschedule a wedding.
Good venues book-out far in advance…. And now there will be presumably lots of couples all fighting for limited spaces and dates.
DonkChonk4 on
There’s heaps of other venues in Bris & south east Qld to hold a wedding, so it’s not the end of the world and if anyone had paid anything they’ll get refunded.
