The St. Louis Blues gained yet another Olympian Thursday when center Dalibor Dvorsky was named to Team Slovakia for the 2026 Milano Winter Olympics in February.

Dvorsky, just 20 years old, is the Blues’ fifth player to be named to the Olympic teams, joining goaltender Jordan Binnington and defensemen Colton Parayko for Team Canada, defensemen Philip Broberg for Team Sweden, and forward Pius Suter for Team Switzerland.

Dvorsky is one of six NHL players selected to Team Slovakia, notably joining Montreal Canadiens forward Juraj Slafkovsky and Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Erik Cernak. Slovakia begins Olympic play against Finland on Feb. 11th.

This will be Dvorsky’s first Olympic Games, but not the first time he has represented his country in international play. In 2023, he was named team captain of the Slovakian U-20 team at the World Junior Championships.

Dvorsky is in his first full season with the Blues, after being selected 10th overall in the 2023 NHL Draft. Dvorsky has nine points in 34 games, including six goals, four of which have come on the struggling St Louis power play. He leads the team in power play tallies.

Dvorsky Scouting Report

The smaller production from Dvorsky is not a surprise, given that it is his first full NHL season. As he adjusts to the speed and full grind in the NHL, the scoring should increase. The Blues see a bright future for the former first-round pick, given his high-end shooting ability and responsible game in the defensive zone.

He still projects to have a ceiling as a high-end middle-six forward.

With the organization and general manager Doug Armstrong potentially looking to make changes to the roster at the trade deadline amidst another disappointing season, Blues captain Brayden Schenn’s name has surfaced on the trade block. Should Armstrong move Schenn, Dvorsky could take over the second-line center role behind Robert Thomas.
