Bus Carrying Cyprus Men's Handball Team Overturns in Estonia

A bus transporting the Cyprus men’s national handball team was involved in a road accident in Estonia. This was reported by the Cyprus Handball Federation on social media.

The incident occurred on the morning of January 10 as the team was traveling from Tallinn to Põlva for their return European Championship qualification match against Estonia.

The bus overturned, resulting in injuries for two members of the Cypriot delegation, who required hospitalization. There are no concerns regarding the condition of the injured, according to the source.

The match between Cyprus and Estonia is scheduled for January 11. The current European handball champion is France, who defeated Denmark 33-31 in overtime in the decisive stage of the 2024 Euros.

The 2026 European Championship will take place from January 15 to February 1 in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark.
