The new normal Winter can be -20 or +20. Everything is possible… :-p Monday in a week they report +10 again.

What’s funny is that that would be a normal day in Kanada with 0 issues on the roads and buses running fearlessly.

Until mid-December, I thought, “Wow, this year’s winter is warm as hell.”
But by the end of December and into January, it hit hard—almost two weeks straight of sub-zero temperatures.
Uff, the coldest winter I’ve experienced in the last three years of living here.

I can say this is the coldest winter in the last 10 years atleast ( all the other ones were ridiculously warm)

Not going out at all. Turok 1-2-3 marathon. Case of Hövels Bier.

I’m always happy when temperatures take a dive in winter. It hurts invasive species (especially insects) that find northern Europe increasingly hospitable due to global warming – so winters like these help keep their spreading population in check.

My outside thermometer showed -13 today in the morning in Warsaw. So I took appropriate measures and put my gloves on. Besides business as usual.

what’s the difference, everyone in anywhere Germany walks around with these generic long puffer coats at +10C shivering that’s freezing, now experience a true cold. Or what are you going to do, wear two puffers at the same time? I swear every woman in Germany has one, makes me chuckle a lot you see these walking sleeping bags with a pair of shoes sticking out underneath.

Yes, it’s winter in Germany.

This is a “feels like” map – actual temperatures in central Germany are like 10° warmer
The wind chill (aka feels like temperature) in those areas can easily dip below -20 or even -25 degrees, due to the _wind_.
Is this exceptionally cold for Germans?
The -15C is measured at the top of the Brocken, hardly a surprising feat for that particular location
Finally, there’s enough water for agriculture and reservoirs, and it’s cold enough to kill tropical parasites.
„Stell dich nicht so an.“
It’s already -12 here!
Yup. Munich is indeed in a bubble. Nothing ever touches it.
Da ist teilweise ganz schön dunkel, Deutschland.
