    I had laser eye surgery for vision (AMA)


    Hi everyone!

    A few years ago I decided to have eye surgery to correct my vision (Lasik).

    Before doing it I was honestly scared: the idea of ​​touching your eyes isn’t exactly reassuring 😅

    However, what helped me a lot was informing myself thoroughly, talking to people who had already done it and also talking to some relatives who work in the medical field. Hearing rational, non-emotional opinions gave me much more peace of mind.

    I want to be totally honest: i two days after the operation were probably the worst of my life. Extreme burning in the eyes, difficulty keeping them open, impossible to bear light or sun. I practically couldn’t see anything.

    At the same time, however, they were two very strange days: zero technology, no phone, no screens. I slept a lot, I think something like 36 hours in two days, because I couldn’t do anything else.

    In hindsight, it was like a kind of forced isolation. A total break that I had never experienced before. Lots of reflection, silence, a sort of involuntary meditation.

    Then, suddenly, the moment when I started to see normally. That, without exaggeration, was one of the best days of my life. The contrast with the previous days was very strong and difficult to explain.

    Today several years have passed (about five) and I can say that I would make this choice again a thousand times. I see very well, I feel free and, in a certain sense, that experience really marked a “before and after” in my life.

    I decided to make this post not only to answer all your questions (based on my experience obviously, I am not a doctor), but also because I am conducting research for my experimental university thesis.

      Ciao socio! Anche tu ora hai problemi a guardare le luci intense la sera vedendole “opache”? O, anche, vedi aloni fissando soggetti davanti a delle finestre.

      Quanto era serio il tuo problema visivo?

      Anche a me farebbe comodo per una serie di ragioni, ma usando quotidianamente il PC per molte ore dovrei comunque indossare degli occhiali da computer per non bruciarmi nuovamente la vista. Quindi non cambierebbe nulla all’atto pratico.

      Altra domanda: il medico ti ha consigliato subito questa opzione oppure sei stato tu a chiederla?

      io anche l’ho fatta con la stessa tecnologia ormai più di 10 anni fa in un centro nella provincia di siena. La sala d’attesa era piena di gente che si guardava i video dell’operazione. Non guardate video dell’operazione prima di operarvi. L’intervento è durato sì e no 10 minuti e sì a parte il fastidio nei due giorni dopo poi si recupera completamente la vista, io ho ancora 10/10 perfetti, partivo da miopia -4 e -6 tipo. la talpa

      Comunque come responso ho SmilePro oppure la FemtoLASIK, quali sono le differenze? Cosa posso aspettarmi di rischio e quale prezzo?

      Non promuovere un operazione obsoleta che a te è andata bene, lo sai che può andare storta (in rari casi) e portare a perdere vista o occhio?

      Inoltre la probabilità di sviluppare secchezza oculare o correzzione refrattiva non ottimale è alta?

      Vorrei veramente tanto farla, ma non ironicamente sono stato traumatizzato dalla puntata dei Simpson dove Flanders diceva che gli erano caduti gli occhi dopo 10 anni dall’intervento, quindi ho tanta paura che le complicazioni arrivino dopo tanto tempo.
      Tra l’altro ho sempre avuto difficoltà a mettermi le gocce o ancora peggio, ho difficoltà a farmi toccare intorno agli occhi da altre persone, quindi non so.
      Spero che il confrontarmi con un medico mi rassicuri per farla perché tornare a vedere senza occhiali sarebbe bellissimo
