The Emergency Management Agency (AME) has published an updated report on the situation from atmospheric precipitation during the hours of 22:00 – 08:00 on 11.01.2026, announcing the condition of roads, rivers and emergency interventions throughout the territory of Kosovo.

According to the report, Pristina has experienced flooding on the Qagllavica road and the underpasses to Obiliq, mainly as a result of blocked sewers.

In Kosovo Polje, flooding was reported in the villages of Lismir, Kuzmin and Sllatinë e Madhe. Meanwhile, the Mitrovica region had a critical situation in the “2 Korriku” neighborhood, where the risk of the Sitnica River overflowing its banks was medium.

The preventive operation for this area was successfully completed, placing about 200 meters of protective wall with sandbags, with the participation of AME, South Mitrovica DPU and the Kosovo Search and Rescue Association.

In the Ferizaj region, five cases of flooding were reported in the villages of Prelez, Mohoc, Terrnë and Balaj, where two elderly people were evacuated from the danger zone.

Pumps are active to prevent the spread of water. In other regions, such as Lipjan, Podujevo, Shtime, Prizren, Suhareka, Malisheva, Rahovec and Dragash, the situation remains stable and the roads are passable.

The report also highlights that the snowfall that has begun in most municipalities has mitigated the risk of flooding, while care for evacuees continues.

Authorities emphasized that the AME Operations Center remains on full alert for emergency interventions, including the activation of the Kosovo Security Force for preventive support.

AME appeals to citizens to respect the signaling and show maximum caution while driving, especially in flooded areas and near rivers. /Telegraph/
