PORTLAND, Maine (WGME) — Graham Platner and his wife Amy will be putting a pause on his campaign for Senate so they can try and have a baby.

Platner posted a video on Facebook saying they will be traveling to Norway for IVF treatment.

Platner adds that trying to go through the process here in the U.S. has been difficult and expensive.

Norway has universal healthcare.

He says this is a example of the flaws in this country’s healthcare system.

“One round here in the States is $25,000. One round in Norway is $5,500. Even when you add on plane tickets, it’s incomparable. Not to get political, but it’s a real indication of how flawed our healthcare system is,” Platner said.

Platner adds his Senate campaign is aimed at building power to help working Americans receive universal healthcare.
