The Moldovan authorities have rotated officers in the EU military missions in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Somalia. The commander of the National Army, General Vitalie Micov, met with the servicemen, who stressed that the process of their selection, training and equipping was carried out in full compliance with international requirements. According to him, the participation of Moldovan officers in EU missions reflects both the achieved level of professionalization of the national army and the international recognition of its ability to responsibly contribute to ensuring regional security and stability. “This participation demonstrates that our military personnel are ready to manage the risks typical of international missions and operate effectively in a multinational environment, ensuring full compatibility with European partners,” the commander said. The National Army of the Republic of Moldova has been participating in the EUFOR ALTHEA mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2024. Since the same year, Moldovan military personnel have been involved in military training missions under the auspices of the European Union in Somalia (EUTM Somalia).
