Most of the remarks about the Action Plan for Minorities that Bulgaria has given have not been given in “good faith”, while for the Minister of Foreign Affairs Timco Mucunksi, the manner of communication is also disappointing.

He says that this Action Plan is not about the rights of the Bulgarian minority in the country, but about the rights of all minorities. For this reason, this document is being prepared with the help of foreign experts, as it will result in obligations that Macedonia will have to implement.

“A large part of the remarks that come from them are not remarks given in ‘good faith’ and are not remarks that essentially have the objective situation or the real picture of the situation regarding the rights of minorities within our state. There is a tendentiousness in Bulgaria’s approach and you saw this best through the press release of their Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” said Timco Mucunksi.

Mucunski says Bulgaria’s stance on the Macedonian language is shameful, but he says that all objective comments on the Action Plan will be accepted and implemented. All received comments regarding the Plan are currently being analyzed.
“Therefore, we must distinguish between what we can implement and what we cannot implement, because tomorrow we will publish this document. And imagine, if there is something in it that this country cannot implement. The same Bulgaria will dispute before the European Union that we are not making progress in relation to the Action Plan for Minorities,” declared Mucunksi.
