Penn State has approved the relocation of associate degree programs in forest technology and wildlife technology to Penn State Altoona, ensuring the continuation of the program for future students.
The forest technology program is currently offered at Penn State Mont Alto, while wildlife technology is based at Penn State DuBois. Students already enrolled will be able to remain at their current campuses through the spring 2027 semester, allowing most to complete their degrees without transferring.
In fall 2026, new forest technology students will start at Mont Alto and new wildlife technology students will begin at DuBois before transitioning to Altoona for their second year in the 2027-28 academic year. But by fall 2027, all new students will complete both programs entirely at Altoona.
The forest and wildlife technology programs are among many commonwealth campus programs approved for relocation ahead of planned campus closures following the spring 2027 semester.
