The Americans look to finish off the group stage in style on Tuesday, as they look to secure first place in Group B of the 2026 IIHF Under-18 Women’s World Championship.

After a dominating 13-0 win over Slovakia last Saturday, the U.S. ran through arguably its toughest opponent in the opening round, beating up Czechia 9-1 on Sunday. Jane Daley continued her hot start to the tournament, leading the Americans with a hat trick against the Czechs, totaling five points.
Finland was hopeful for a better performance after last year’s quarterfinal exit, but things have been tough for the team. After losing 9-1 to Czechia on Day 1, the Finns could not stop Nela Lopusanova in a 5-2 loss to Slovakia on Sunday.
The U.S. entered this year’s tournament looking to avenge last year’s loss to Canada in the gold medal game. The Americans have made it to the championship game in all but one of the first 17 editions of the tournament, having won a record nine gold medals.
