KOSPI Breaks 4,700 for First Time in Wednesday's Early Trading

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) broke four‑thousand‑700 for the first time in early trading on Wednesday.

The main bourse opened seven‑point‑53 points, or zero‑point‑16 percent, lower at four‑thousand‑685‑point‑11, but quickly rebounded to climb as high as four‑thousand‑706‑point‑33 before hovering as it searched for clear direction.

As of 10:05 a.m., KOSPI is trading at four‑thousand‑706‑point‑89, up zero‑point‑three percent from Tuesday.

In the Seoul foreign exchange market, the won–dollar exchange rate opened at one‑thousand‑477‑point‑two won per dollar, up three‑and‑a‑half won from the previous session, and has been trading in the one‑thousand‑476‑won range.
