　An internal document of the Unification Church (now the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification) bearing this statement was made public at the end of December last year. Its source was South Korea.

Discovered during investigations into the South Korean Unification Church's political lobbying activities was a top-secret document titled ‘TM Special Report’. Its author was Yun Young-ho, former head of the World Mission Headquarters and the church's South Korean headquarters' number two.

‘TM’ stands for ‘True Mother,’ referring to President Han Hak-ja.

Mr Yun was tasked with compiling communications from church branches worldwide and reporting them daily to President Han. The newly discovered ‘TM Special Reports’ comprise records he compiled from 2018 to 2022. The original Korean-language documents span approximately 3,200 A4 pages; the full text was obtained from church sources.

The majority of these reports concern Japan. Beyond detailing the Japan-Korea Tunnel project and church events, they contain meticulous analyses of political situations and election prospects, alongside records of contacts with individual Diet members. The primary reporters were two individuals: Mr Tokuno Eiji, then President of the Unification Church, and Mr Kajikuri Masayoshi, then Chairman of the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) Japan.

On 8 July 2022, Mr Abe was assassinated by defendant Yamagami Tetsuya, who harboured resentment towards the Unification Church. In response, the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) announced the results of its investigation into connections between the Unification Church and its members in September. It identified 179 individuals with such connections. Only 121 individuals were deemed to have ‘deep connections’ and had their names disclosed.

However, the report also features several lawmakers not named in the LDP investigation who are deemed to have deep connections. This raises extremely serious doubts about the veracity of the LDP's investigation, making it invaluable material.
