Mother and two children found dead: False information spreads on social media claiming they were denied welfare benefits; Fukuoka City to request disclosure of senders of false information

Body of a mother in her 30s and her elementary and preschool children were found in an apartment in Fukuoka City. The police is investigating on possible suicide.

A rumor is spreading on the internet that they died because they were refused welfare benefits by the city. By Jan. 13, the city has received around 50 complaints by phone and email saying their actions is unacceptable.

The city claim the information is completely false and trying to find the culprits who are spreading false information.
