They need to be absolutely clear. Subtlety goes over dumps head. They need to stand at at podium and just clearly say “any action against Greenland will create a state of war between the United States and Denmark.” Drawing that line in the sand will likely make the moderate republicans (I’m aware the word moderate is doing some Olympic lifting) finally stand up to him. Support for taking Greenland is already so low among trump supporters, framing it as declaring war against Europe instead of seizing an island might clear things up for them.
