Latest passport ranking index by “Henley” shows wide variations in freedom of travel between countries.
Asian countries are at the top: Singapore is first with 192 visa-free destinations, while Japan and South Korea share second place with 188. Third place is shared by five European countries – Denmark, Luxembourg, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland (186 destinations), while 11 European countries are in fourth place (185). Fifth place is shared by Hungary, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia and the United Arab Emirates (184), where strong growth has been recorded over the past two decades.
This is followed by Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Malta, New Zealand (sixth place), Australia, Latvia, Liechtenstein and the United Kingdom (seventh), Canada, Iceland and Lithuania (eighth), Malaysia (ninth), and the United States returned to 10th place with 179 destinations. Bulgaria and Romania are in 11th place (178).
In the region, the best ranked are Serbia (34th place, 136 places), North Macedonia and Montenegro (38th place, 128), Bosnia and Herzegovina (42nd place, 122), Albania (43rd place, 121) and Turkey (46th place, 113). Kosovo is the lowest ranked (59th place, 81 places), along with China and Botswana.
At the bottom of the list are countries with conflicts or crises: Pakistan, Yemen, Iraq, Syria, and last is Afghanistan with only 24 visa-free destinations./Telegraph/
