  1. Oh well, as long as “the law is clear” he’ll *definitely* follow it in letter and spirit…

Can’t wait for Republicans to say he is just joking and then when Trump actually tries this all fall in line.

The US had an election in the middle of the Civil War. That should be all that needs to be said on the subject.

  4. The fact that he’s saying this aloud, combined with his threat to invoke the Insurrection Act, is a bad fucking sign.

  5. Same thing he did with Venezuela. Throw these things out there that sound outrageous. Then he just acts unilaterally and does what he wants, and everyone including Congress acts surprised. Then fox news gets a good segment of the population gas-lit into pretending as if they knew this was the plan all along along, because their sunk cost into Trump force them to kowtow to the chaotic and undisciplined mind of the President regardless of short or long-term consequences.

He’s getting there. The insurrection act is being discussed again in Minnesota. He doesn’t have to shut elections down everywhere, just the largest blue cities. The red states will swear their elections were free and fair.

  6. “Maybe we shouldn’t have an election lol, just kidding”

“Actually a lot of people are saying we shouldn’t have an election”

    “We shouldn’t have an election”

“Unhinged left wing radicals are saying we should still have an election this November!”

  7. Because he doesn’t want to be impeached and sentenced for his 34 felonies. This is where he sees everyone in the U.S. as expendable.

  8. Sign up to be an election judge this year or a poll worker. Volunteer in your community if you can to ensure we can all have a better country for ourselves and neighbors.

  9. Yes, yes we should. And money says shit like this it makes it more obvious that we really need one

  10. Then we shouldn’t even have to pay taxes, when you think about it.

Look up ‘taxation without representation’, you draft-dodging pussy.

  11. Wasn’t he floating this same thing in 2020, except using COVID as a reason to delay the election?

  12. In July 2024, former U.S. President Donald Trump told a crowd, “Get out and vote! Just this time. You won’t have to do it anymore! Four more years, you know what? It’ll be fixed, it’ll be fine, you won’t have to vote anymore.”

Oh I’m sorry – is this when we’re supposed to be all surprised about this again?

  13. Remind me again about the well regulated militia and the tyrants yo? I was led to believe that’s why all those kids got shot…

Republicans foaming at the mouth to start their new talking points about how elections are really bad for democracy

Been saying this was the plan since it was clearly laid out in P2025 but everyone called me an alarmist.

  16. Trump is giving Democrats a golden ticket to run on this midterm. The fact that he’s trying to cancel the midterms his ammunition enough. But they need to campaign on abolishing ice as well. Not just defunding it. It was an organization that’s started in 2003 as a direct response to 9:11. It is not a necessary part of our government. It never was. It was started as a racist reaction by Bush. One of Obama’s biggest failures was not dismantling this institution when he took over.

  17. This will not end the way they think it will—& when this garbage is taken out, remember ZERO news orgs fought it, ZERO major corporations fought it, & we should completely ignore their opinions when we finally finish what Sherman should have after the Civil War.

Capitalism is destroying the United States & must be severely limited if not outright replaced with some version of the Chinese system, which is outperforming us by every measurable metric.

  18. I mean what the fuck are we doing here?

In any other era of American history this wouldn’t even be questioned as a partisan issue. Both parties would impeach this orange stained shit bag. Not one citizen would tolerate or defend this fucking treasonous statement.

Have we fallen so low as a nation? As a people?

Are we that indifferent to it all because it’s not directly affecting us other than what we see on our social media algorithms? How many more people being killed by ICE is it going to take for us all as citizens and the politicians a like to say enough is enough.

He’s not going to stop and all of us need to realize that. How much of our liberties are we going to cede. How much of our standing with the rest of the modern world are we going to burn?

I’m not saying I know what to do. But what we are all doing now is not working. And we all need to figure it out together and do something before it’s too late.

Wouldn’t just saying “we shouldn’t have an election” immediately disqualify someone from being able to hold any political office is the US? That should be an immediate removal from office.

  20. Y’all seeing it now? You’re not going to be able to vote your way out of this. People say it’s all dramatics and that he’ll back down when congress grows a spine because he backed down when the courts ruled against his domestic military deployments.

But he’s emboldened in the wake of Venezuela. He knows ICE are completely loyal to him. He’s making diplomatic power moves as if he’s a king. He knows that if he loses power he will be made to pay consequences for his actions; Trump will not give up power. He will destroy American democracy before he allows himself to be in a position to be held accountable for this mess.

Our best luck without civil war is that the generals effectively refuse his orders when the inevitable invasion of Greenland is greenlit, and when he cancels elections later this year. Maybe the Republicans will break ranks and actually seize the chance to impeach him, but that’s unlikely. Trump is a pawn of the Heritage Foundation, and the Republican Party was long embedded within Heritage’s leadership.

  21. Once he’s not president he’s going to jail and so are his friends. He 100% means it
