If Trump really does go after Greenland then Canada is next. We dont have time to build up any military capacity nor would we have any chance against them regardless. We need to focus on how to make taking and holding Canada as awful as possible.

Turkey has twice our population, but our gdp is twice theirs.

Send Canadian Forces to help take part in NATO Operation Arctic Endurance.
If Canada doesn’t help defend our NATO allies, our NATO allies will choose not to support Canada if any threats of annexation or invasion become real. If Trump doesn’t face as wide an array of opposition (boots on the ground) as possible in Greenland, he will take it as a green light to seize the island.
And if he does that, Canada will be next on his list of annexations.
Defending Greenland’s sovereignty is defending Canada’s sovereignty.

What *can* Carney do? The world can condemn Trump all they want. It’s not going to stop an American invasion fleet.Â
Worst case scenario is that Trump *really* stops carrying about isolating America from the rest of the world and just does everything he wants. Would be he ballsy enough to just come in and take something from a NATO ally? Who knows. I just pray we don’t have to find outÂ

Well we just need to build NATO bases because 32 Allied countries would easily be able to use our vast resources and protect out common interests that have been shared for 80 years. Canadians have always been unquestionably loyal and willing to fight for freedom and democracy. I never thought that in a million years that the USA would become this debacle. And every country that has a US base should evict them. I dont know how the Americans think that they can win in Canada against those Francophones, Newfies, farmers and First Nations because I know that everyone I know would fight as hard as the Vietnamese but with more resources.

Trump’s lie that Russia and China will invade Greenland is so transparent. He wants the island for the untapped mineral potential and possibly oil for his billionaire buddies.
Russia has their hands full with Ukraine. If they tried to invade Greenland NATO with or without the U.S. would defeat them in short order (assuming Russia does not use their nuclear weapons) . NATO would also be fighting side by side with Ukraine and they would take back everything Russia has occupied, including Crimea. And war would be fought on Russian soil.
China will not invade Greenland. Taiwan, yes. Greenland, no. The supply lines are too long and treacherous. Their ships would have to sail up the eastern coast of North America, or the western coast of Europe. Of course first they would have to get through the Panama Canal, or go the long way around. Once on station “around” Greenland they are within easy reach of Canadian air and sea bases. NATO air and sea fleets can easily be stationed in Canada.
