A meeting of the Commission established to organize inspections of compliance with general and specific requirements for the security of critical information infrastructure, dedicated to the results of 2025, has been held, APA reports.
At the meeting of the joint Commission consisting of employees of the State Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SSS) and the State Service of Special Communication and Information Security(SSSSCI), the current state of critical information infrastructure security, the results of assessments conducted during the year, as well as existing risks were discussed, and the main functional objectives for 2026 were determined.
It was reported that during on-site assessments carried out with the participation of SSS and SSSSCI employees, discrepancies were identified between the situation reflected in internal audit reports submitted by some entities and the actual state of affairs. Based on these findings, attention was drawn to the need to enhance the effectiveness of centralized oversight mechanisms to strengthen cybersecurity at critical information infrastructure facilities.
The meeting also discussed the application of relevant regulatory and legal mechanisms, the measures implemented, practical outcomes in the exchange of cyber threat information, and international cooperation.
At the same time, taking existing challenges into account, proposals were discussed on the development of the regulatory and legal framework related to the security of critical information infrastructure, particularly about improving security requirements.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the final report prepared on the security of critical information infrastructure was adopted.
