Neither is affordable healthcare, education, or housing. If Democrats want to win back the White House or a majority in Congress, they need to run on these issues the same way Mamdani did.

If there are more people gunned down by ICE in a short period of time here I am not going to be surprised to see violence taken against ICE.
Honestly I don’t understand why people don’t put laxatives in water and then pretend to be supporters and hand it out. Get the losers shitting their pants and out of commission for the day.
There’s so many things people can do outsmarting them, yet all they do is stand there and yell “go home”. That strokes their ego.

ICE was created in 2003.
The United States did just fine for 227 years before ICE was created and will flourish for centuries after ICE is abolished.

Yes get rid of ICE Just use the system that other Presidents used to deport people but don’t go door to door and don’t shoot Americans in the head.

I used to think “abolish ICE” sounded extreme. Then I watched families terrorized and citizens detained, and it stopped sounding fringe and started sounding reasonable.

Can we really protect the nation’s borders without ICE? That’d leave only four DHS components to handle the job: the Coast Guard, Border Patrol, Customs & Border Protection, and Citizenship and Immigration Services. Hmm…

Centerists have held their line and drug us all to hell.
They won’t abolish ice because they can’t IMAGINE letting us know that a few weeks of protest is enough to demilitarize our country. They can’t dare let the livestock understand we are strong enough to get ourselves out of the fences we’re out in.

MAGA want this fight. Almost everything Trump has done has been through emergency powers. We all know they are targeting specific places, evoking conflict. It allows them to be more aggressive and grab more power away from their targets. Plus Tens of millions of Americans love this shit. They’ve wanted it for years. Progressives need to be careful, a huge part of this battle is optics and controlling narratives.

Who cares? If AOC wants to get out and campaign on abolishing ICE, great. If a house member that scraped by in 2020 wants to take a softer anti-ice position, do that. They don’t have to be in exact lock-step over the issue, they just need to be directionally correct on it.
Stop the circular firing squad for fuck’s sake.

I know it’s an unpopular opinion on Reddit, but immigration enforcement still has value. The way this administration has gone about it is totally unacceptable. DHS is completely out of control and are abusing their authority. We’ve had sensible immigration enforcement in the past and we can get back there again without human rights abuses.

The establishment demanded that Dems abandon this position at precisely the moment it gained majority backing from the general public.

Ice needs to be abolished. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t have some type of immigration enforcement agency but it can’t be ice and it can’t be anyone that had anything to do with ice during this admin.

Yep. Fuck everyone of these assholes. Every one needs to be on a domestic terrorist list and put in jail. I don’t care if they’re out there or not. If you’re part of ICE you belong in jail. And abolish ICE.
But it won’t happen because moderate dems serve the same corporate masters as ICE

The people who want to “abolish” ICE are already going to vote for the Democrats to vote against the Republicans. The moderate Democrats are focused purely on winning over the Americans who are immune to political hyperbole and vote exclusively and selfishly for economic reasons. All you’re going to see the moderates talk about is cost of living this election cycle. Once they’re elected we all know they only plan to improve the cost of living for the rich donors funding their campaigns with a nod and a thank you to Donald Trump for making the scam even easier to perpetrate than usual.

What Ice has become is not salvageable. In fact, the Department of Homeland Security was only formed as a knee-jerk reaction to 9-11. That entire bloated bureaucracy could go and nobody would miss them.

Abolishing ICE is a position held by more Americans than the number of Americans who oppose it.
