On January 16, a delegation led by Lieutenant General of Militsiya Ivan Kubrakov, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, arrived in Azerbaijan on an official visit, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs told APA.
It was reported that Minister Ivan Kubrakov and the accompanying persons paid tribute to the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev at the Alley of Honor. Later, they laid a wreath at the Victory Monument in Victory Park to honor the martyrs.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Vilayat Eyvazov, met with the Belarusian counterpart and the delegation he led.
During the meeting, V. Eyvazov spoke about cooperation with Belarus in the field of law enforcement, emphasizing that combating major forms of transnational organized crime—such as the illegal circulation of narcotics, human trafficking, illegal migration, and cybercrime—remains a priority, and that effective results in these areas are possible through joint efforts. A number of issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
Lieutenant General of Militsiya Ivan Kubrakov, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, expressed his gratitude to his Azerbaijani counterpart for the meeting.
At the end, the ministers signed a protocol on mutual cooperation.
