2.) Expand the courts by eliminating the filibuster.
3.) Universal Healthcare
4.) Affordable housing
5.) raise the minimum wage.
It’s incredible that we’re seeing how well candidates are doing by campaigning on these three things.

I grew up in San Francisco and live in Oakland. The people who think Newsom would be a good candidate for 2028 are delusional.
First, he’s always been sort of a weather-vane whose principles have questionable foundations, as you can see here.
Second, he is very vulnerable on cost of living issues. The other candidates should torch him (and other CA politicians like the NIMBY Queen of LA herself Karen Bass) for his inability to get a handle on the affordability issues in the state despite having a *supermajority* in the legislature. Especially since California’s pathetic housing production levels might make it next to impossible for Democrats to win the White House after the next census.
Third, because of his aforementioned struggles, he leans into social issues a lot. This might make this sub and a lot of primary voters feel good, but it will be manna from heaven in a general election for Vance, Trump Jr., Rubio, or whoever the GOP nominee (if we even have an election in 2028) will be.
He’s not the savior you all are looking for.
