Sandra Kim, winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 1986, will perform during the final of the Luxembourg Song Contest 2026.

    Belgium’s only Eurovision winner, Sandra Kim, has been announced as a guest act for the Luxembourg Song Contest 2026. Sandra Kim won the Eurovision Song Contest 1986 for Belgium with the song “J’aime la vie”, she received 12 points from Finland, France, Ireland, Portugal and Turkey.

    She will be one of two Eurovision winners performing as part of the Luxembourg Song Contest, with JJ, the 2025 winner, confirmed as performing earlier this week. In addition, Laura Thorn, who represented Luxembourg in 2025, will also perform.

    The full line-up of the final of the Luxembourg Song Contest 2026 is as follows:

    • Eva Marija – “Mother Nature”
    • Hugo One – “Born Again”
    • Irem – “Bad Decisions (Hush Hush)”
    • Luzac – “Prison DorĂ©e” (Golden prison)

    • Steve Castile – “Sweet Tooth”

    The third edition of the Luxembourg Song Contest will take place on January 24 in Rockhal in Esch-sur-Alzette. A total of eight acts will compete to represent Luxembourg at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Vienna.

    Laura Thorn represented Luxembourg at Eurovision 2025 with “La poupée monte le son”. She finished 22nd with 47 points. This is the country’s worst result since its comeback in 2024, when Luxembourg came 13th with Tali and “Fighter”.

    Luxembourg in the Eurovision Song Contest+

    Luxembourg was one of seven countries to take part in the first Eurovision Song Contest in 1956. Luxembourg participated in the contest 37 times before withdrawing from the contest after 1993. During these 37 years, they won the contest five times. The last of these victories came in 1983. Luxembourg came close to returning to the contest in 2004, but opted against it due to the financial cost of participating. They eventually returned in 2024, after an absence of 31 years.
