He worked for Shell for 37 years, of which he did his last job for 10 years.
He was Shell’s global vice president, responsible for all gas stations around the world.
He joined Shell before the Iron Curtain came down.
According to him, the most important thing is to enjoy it "travel". Life is a damn exciting thing if you can do things you are good at and successful at.
You don’t have to look at what position you will achieve or how much money you will earn. But do you enjoy the activity you have been doing for 30-40 years?
You have to get up every morning to go to work with joy, because if you don’t, it’s extremely difficult to maintain good performance.
According to him, a good leader is one who, if he looks back on his career, can list for ten long minutes the names of those he helped to achieve much more than they ever thought they could achieve.
You have to be very careful not to micromanage when dealing with people, so the huge difference between a good leader and a worse leader is that you can’t let them go, you can’t trust them to make mistakes. And if he makes a mistake, he doesn’t stand behind it.
If there is success, it is his success, if there is failure, it is his fault. You can’t hide.
If you don’t push the boundaries, if you don’t try to do things that no one else has tried, if you don’t try to swim against the tide and be successful, then you will never achieve something that can differentiate you. You will be outstanding.
There were no sacrifices in his personal life in the direction of work, it is possible to find a balance, it is important that one can say no. He didn’t constantly check his emails on Saturday and Sunday.
You need a period when you recharge.
He has never responded to emails that are copied, he deletes them immediately, only those who write directly have read them. If you read everything about large companies, you think they have no life.
They tried to promote him many times, he said no many times. The activity they recommended did not make him feverish. He didn’t feel like a suitable character there.
You have to say no to what you judge emotionally and rationally, which is not for you. You have to feel this, because this is your life.

Basszus, ennek a faszinak a leigazolása kibaszott nagy telitalálat volt. Jó, van a mondókájában egy picike corporate bullshit, de nem az a lényeg.
Érdekes. Magyar összetett mondatokat artikulálva tud mondani akár rögtönözve is. Nagy Márton még az előre megírt szöveget is dadogva mondja el. Lehet ilyen is?
Engem nyugtat, hogy ilyen embert behúzott a Tisza. Egyrészt a szakértelem, másrészt egy ilyen dörzsölt üzletember tuti, hogy nem adná a nevét egy vesztes projekthez. Kapitánnyal lettem biztos abban, hogy a Tisza nyerni fog.

Imádom a faszit, de tényleg. Megnéztem vele több interjút, hónapokkal ezelőttieket is. Akkora nyugalom, profizmus, és pozitív energia árad belőle, hogy az valami hihetetlen. Utoljára Hegedüs Zsolt bemutatásánál éreztem ilyet.

Remélem nem fog beletörni a bicskája a “magyar valóságba”. Nagyon jó, hogy ilyen sikeres lett egy hatékony vállalati kultúrában és remélem képes lesz ezt poshadt “Magyar Ugart” felráznia és átalakítania.
