They just want to make it easier to ignore dissent. A protest that can be ignored is an ineffectual one.

  2. But if you don’t all get together in our preplanned predesignated spots it makes it hard to bring in the good expensive cameras with me making James bond poses for content!

I can see it now. They will call them “freedom zones” small sections allocated within every major city to exercising rights. So Americans can pretend they are still free.

  4. If you’re asking for permission to hold a “protest” at a pre-defined, out-of-the-way location, during a pre-defined time period (preferably on weekends or off business hours) where you promise not to disrupt normal activities or get too uppity, you’re not protesting. They’re giving you permission to hold a parade.

She was borrowing Netanyahu’s idea of having zones for Palestinians… it made it easier for his armies to shoot women and children as they lined up for food.

  6. She’s just trying to cover her tracks.

“Yes we ran over and killed 3 pedestrians today but this is the mayor’s fault, we told him he needed a specified protest zone”.

  7. Counter offer with an “ICE Zone” that all federal forces must operate within. No ICE activities of any kind allowed outside of a zone chosen by the mayor.

Noem is starting to feeling the heat if she is suggesting this. Keep the burner turned up Minnesota!

Should we take a cue from the mAga-faFos and designate the peaceful protest zone in and around Federal buildings ICE, DHS and BP operate out of… similar to their actions on January 6?

  10. How about we have an immigration enforcement zone, some little out of the way area where ICE can hang out and arrest brown people, but only if they enter the zone.

That plastic bitch can suck my whole ass. I absolutely cannot wait for her trial. I’ll bet she squeals for her Constitutional rights once she’s in custody.

  12. Right? It’s like they’re trying to corral outrage into a neat little box just to crush it more efficiently. “Designated protest zone” sounds way too much like “designated target zone” these days

  13. Protests are supposed to be an inconvenience and disruptive

Thats the fucking point of the protest

  14. “You can only have freedom of speech in this one particular designated area, just as the Constitution says.”

  15. We already have a free speech zone.

It’s called “the United States of America”

On the eve of MLK Jr Day, let’s take a moment to remember which right King thought was the most important of all: **the right to protest for more rights.**

  16. She wants all the protesters together in one spot so ICE can surround them, claim some sort of assault on their collective and beat/arrest everyone at once.
