The ceremony was also attended by Minister of Defence Andris Sprūds, according to a ministerial press release.
“The Memorandum of Understanding envisages cooperation in the field of military equipment, infrastructure and services, creating a basis for the development of joint projects in the future,” the release said.
Minister of Defence Andris Sprūds said: “This memorandum of understanding forms a structured basis for closer cooperation with Canadian partners in the field of military industry. It allows for targeted development of cooperation, while maintaining flexibility and the priority of national interests in the assessment of each specific project.”
The Canadian Commercial Corporation is Canada’s procurement agency that supports foreign governments in the acquisition of Canadian-made military equipment and defense-related solutions.
