Greece, Algeria set to sign tourism cooperation deal

Greece and Algeria are expected to sign a tourism cooperation agreement during two days of meetings in Athens that started Monday.

Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni said establishing a direct air link between the two countries is key to boosting travel and investment flows.

Kefalogianni said Greece is working to diversify its tourism product, expand into new markets, and develop special forms of tourism. She added that initiatives for digital transformation in the tourism sector aim to achieve balanced growth while addressing challenges such as climate change and cultural heritage preservation.

Algeria’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sofiane Chaib said tourism in Algeria is experiencing dynamic growth.
