Well, there you have it. I actually think Starmer has handled Trump well, but Trump is clearly losing it. If there’s a positive to take, it might be that this allows us to drop any pretences now and to treat the US as the enemy they’re becoming. The stuff he’s just been posting about Greenland shows he’s not going to let this drop and are not the product of a sound mind.

But I do recall Starmer chastising Badenoch at PMQs for calling out against this stating surprise given she has access to the ‘same security briefings..’

I’m sure the only reason we were doing this is because Mauritius was going to go over to Chinese influence if we didn’t return the illegally taken chagos islands – which would have put Chinese vessels in the Indian Ocean. The deal to give the islands back but lease them kept the status quo.
