      I don’t think he survives any of these conquests if pursued to be honest, both politically and with his clearly ailing health. I haven’t seen such a decline in leadership doing nonsensical things since Thomas Frank was given the Dortmund game, just puzzling.

      Does he realize that if Venezuela is US territory all of those Venezuelans he is trying to deport will have a legal right to stay here and all those trying to come here would be able to come?

      When are the world’s democracies going to react? We simply can not allow to have such a strong US if this is how crazy they are going to become. 

      This is no longer a joke. The madman the American people have voted into power **twice** seems set to invade, or otherwise force annexation of, Danish and Canadian territories. And he does not relent. 

      Honestly, we have to cut the ties. Simply allow our companies to freely produce products using technology currently owned by US companies. What are they gonna do? Tariff us? Fuck that. 

      Cut all ties, crash the US economy. It is the only way to *ensure* the American people wake up and won’t vote for the crazies again.

      This is exactly how the run up to WWII was.

      A megalomaniacal leader demanding territory from nearby countries while suppressing outgroup minorities at home with a paramilitary group with immunity from prosecution supported by a racist nationalist base, and he got into power by appealing to perceived loss of status of the racial majority.

      This is Hitler 2.0…….Like….exactly 1930’s Germany. Except they suffered the loss of a war and the great depression with a government that couldn’t hold anything together. The US just……chose to do this.

They voted him twice, they’ve enabled him, and they still support him even through deportations of their own people, and threats of war against allies. Unfortunately, if well meaning Americans think undoing this will simply be a matter of electing a new president, they would be wrong. We are fully committed to new and renewed trade relationships with the EU, China, and Latin America, such that we never end up in this position again. The 20th century era of American soft-power based global hegemony is over, the 21st century is the rest of the world’s century.

      I am no diplomat but I am a Canadian and at the very least the US Ambassador needs to be called in and taken to task for such a complete lack of respect for our country. And for sure it would cause a lot of hurt but it isn’t possible to negotiate in good faith with another country (CUSMA) when said country continually makes clear of their desire to annex it.

      As a Canadian this really just pisses me even more off.

      The 51st state bullshit a year ago drove me to the point that I still avoid American products and produce. It’s so fucking insulting to be treated like this by a country who we for so long considered our greatest ally.
