President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić believes that the conflict between the United States and Europe will hurt also countries that do not belong to the EU. He made these remarks during a panel discussion at the World Economic Forum in Davos, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.
Stance on the future impact of the US-Europe conflict
This rift between the United States of America and Europe is not a temporary phenomenon. It will last for quite a long time. And in the end, we will all pay the price for it.
– Vučić
To mitigate shocks, Vučić calls for stronger ties among smaller countries while protecting sovereignty and independence. According to him, such an approach will help avoid excessive dependencies on powerful players and reduce pressure on regions that could find themselves in the shadow of global imperial trends.
In the modern world, where we confront a lack of rules and regulations, the big fish simply devour the smaller ones. And they do not even hide it. They do this openly, rudely, not adhering to and not respecting the Charter of the United Nations and its resolutions…
– Vučić
Vučić admitted that he is a pessimist: there is less peace, stability, and calm in the world today than at any time since World War II – last year saw many armed conflicts.
This year will be even worse than the last… Everyone talks about peace, blaming others for disrespect or breaking the rules. But ultimately everyone looks out only for their own national interests; no one else cares about multilateralism… The world has just entered an era of instability and uncertainty. I am not sure we will be able to overcome this in the coming years.
– Vučić
In Davos, general trends in global politics and economics are also being discussed, in particular the roles of the United States and Europe in shaping a new world order and ensuring multilateralism amid rising challenges.
It is also known that the World Economic Forum in Davos brings together leaders from various countries to discuss global challenges and ways to cooperate at the international level. The meeting is aimed at finding concrete solutions to preserve global stability and development.
Note that participants of the forum consider possible scenarios for changing the world’s security and economic architecture, as well as ways to strengthen cooperation between regions to prevent new crises.
