The full recount of all regular polling station ballot boxes is continuing at the Counting and Results Center, based on two decisions adopted by Kosovo’s Central Election Commission of Kosovo (CEC).
According to data released so far by the CEC, the recount has been fully completed in six municipalities.
Since the start of the process (Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.) and up to now (Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.), 688 out of 2,557 polling stations have been recounted. These polling stations belong to the municipalities of Deçan, Gjakova, Gllogoc, Gjilan, Dragash, Istog, Kaçanik, Klina, Fushë Kosovë, Kamenica, South Mitrovica, Leposaviq, Lipjan, Novobërdë, Obiliq, Rahovec, Peja, Podujeva, Pristina, Prizren, Skënderaj, Shtime, Shtërpcë, Suhareka, and Ferizaj.
In some of these municipalities, the recount of all ballot boxes has been completed, while in others only a partial recount has been carried out.
Meanwhile, the CEC announced that since Monday afternoon it has also begun implementing its second decision, which the recount of an additional 1,643 polling stations. Under this decision, all polling stations where regular voting took place in the extraordinary elections of December 28 will be recounted.
For this reason, the CEC has increased the number of counting teams. Currently, 76 counting teams are working per day, from 8:00 a.m. to midnight. According to estimates, the recounting process is expected to continue until the end of January, or possibly until February 1.
