Ryanair has confirmed that 2025 was its busiest ever year in Malta, following a record schedule and the addition of a ninth based aircraft during the winter season.

The airline reported carrying 5.2 million passengers to and from Malta in 2025, marking a 15% increase in traffic. The growth follows a major investment of $900 million, linked to the additional aircraft based in Malta from November.

Ryanair said the expanded operations have delivered increased connectivity, more choice and lower fares for both Maltese residents and visitors.

The airline also confirmed it will continue to grow in Malta in 2026, with its Summer 2026 schedule set to be launched in the coming weeks.

Ryanair’s Director of Communications, Jade Kirwan, said the airline was pleased to mark its busiest year in Malta, highlighting the expanded fleet and record schedule as key drivers behind the growth.
