The Lithuanian Foreign Ministry handed a protest note to a representative of the Russian embassy in Vilnius over the massive strike on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure during the night of January 19–20. The Lithuanian foreign policy service said this.
The document emphasizes that such actions by the Russian army harm civilians and critical infrastructure, and also grossly violate international humanitarian law and constitute war crimes.

The note also emphasizes that there is no statute of limitations for bringing those responsible to criminal accountability for these war crimes.
Official Vilnius urged Moscow to immediately withdraw its occupying troops from all internationally recognized Ukrainian territory and to compensate for the damage caused by the aggression.

The Lithuanian MFA’s statement emphasizes international legal norms and Russia’s obligation to respect Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as accountability for actions directed against civilian facilities and critical infrastructure.
Strike Statistics and Impact on the Energy Sector
According to the Air Forces, on the night of January 20, Russian forces launched 339 drones and 34 missiles of various types. Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 315 drones and 27 missiles. The country’s energy sector was again hit by renewed strikes.
