Stubb: What has Russia achieved in four years of war? It has occupied 20% of Ukraine, caused a million deaths and injuries, reduced its sphere of influence, and left itself with an economy suffering from 30% inflation, zero growth, and depleted reserves. This war is a strategic failure for Putin.

For the brainwashed russians unfortunately it is not a strategic failure yet. They think that they are back in WWII, defending the world against evil and rebuilding the respect that they think the world had for them when they were an imperial power. They’re used to suffering and poverty, so they follow their leader almost blindly. They don’t care about the fact that putin cost them stability and prosperity for decades, because they can’t even imagine that in other parts of the world an indoor toilet is state of the art even in rural regions.

So most probably Putin will have settled with the fact, that his strategic failure will cost him a lot, most probably his life, but as long as he keeps the war going, his people and oligarchs will follow, so he keeps it going.

Now, for once, this is a clear statement from the EU instead of the usual word salad from la-la land and company.
