Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Nikoloz Samkharadze, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea, H.E. Hyon Do Kim.

The parties discussed the existing bilateral relations between Georgia and Korea and emphasized the importance of further developing cooperation at both the parliamentary and executive levels.

During the meeting, issues related to trade and economic relations between the two countries, as well as cooperation in the fields of culture and tourism, were discussed.

According to the Ambassador, the number of Korean tourists visiting Georgia is increasing annually.

It was noted that the launch of direct air flights between the two countries would make a significant contribution to the development of the tourism sector.

The meeting also focused on the importance of parliamentary diplomacy. It was noted that a number of high-level visits have been carried out between Georgia and Korea.

The parties underlined that the two countries are linked by long-standing diplomatic relations and actively support each other’s positions within international organizations.

This cooperation is based on shared interests and contributes to the strengthening of bilateral relations.
