According to Oleh Kuts, the meeting took place with the support of the marshals’ offices of the Lublin and Subcarpathian voivodeships, as well as representatives of local self-government bodies from nearly twenty towns and communes in the south-eastern part of Poland – including Holma, Biłgoraj, Ryki, Terespol, Stalowa Wola, Strzyżów, and Pilzno, Tarnawatki. From the Ukrainian side, representatives of the Consulate General in Lublin and the authorities of the Ternopil Oblast participated.
Kuts stressed that during the meeting they discussed strengthening cooperation between Ukrainian and Polish territorial communities. The need for further support for Ukraine amid the energy crisis, caused by the aggressor country’s attacks, was also emphasized.
“The development of interregional cooperation between Ukraine and Poland takes on particular significance in the context of current security challenges. The support of Polish regions is especially valuable at a time of attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. It is precisely at the level of territorial communities that a strong foundation for long-term partnership, solidarity, and mutual support is formed. Such interaction creates real opportunities for implementing joint initiatives, exchanging experience, and providing practical assistance, including in the area of energy security.”
