If the US is granted naval and/or air bases that Greenland / Denmark has no mechanism to remove, then Greenland is no longer sovereign in any sense of the word, and the US will have de facto control of the Northwest Passage over the coming decades, which will become very expensive for all trading nations.
Kind of shocked by the idea that the two relevant parties- Greenland and Denmark- would have agreed to this.
Maybe the hope is that the US will never get around to building the bases, and it can quietly be repealed when and if a sane person is in office, but I sure wouldn’t count on it.
