January the 22nd, 2026 – Croatia Airlines has increased its share capital by a significant 77.9 million euros, meaning the company’s share capital now amounts to 213.27 million euros.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, the shareholders’ meeting of Croatia Airlines recently decided to increase the company’s share capital by 77.9 million euros, with a contribution of 42.9 million euros in state claims and a contribution of 35 million euros made in cash.

Croatia Airlines’ share capital now amounts to 213.27 million euros following this most recent increase. The increase will be used to issue new ordinary shares, 77,878,556 of which will hold a nominal value of one euro each, which will be taken over by the Republic of Croatia itself.

It’s worth reminding ourselves that back in mid-December last year, the government decided to increase the share capital of Croatia Airlines from 92.38 to 248.38 million euros. Also back at the tail end of last year, the shareholders’ meeting decided to increase the share capital of Croatia Airlines by 43 million euros through the contribution of claims based on contracts concluded between the Republic of Croatia and the company.

The recapitalisation process has now been carried out for almost 78 million euros, and in 2027, a recapitalisation process through a cash contribution of 35 million euros is currently being planned.

This will increase the share capital of Croatia Airlines from the initial 92.38 million euros by approximately 156 million euros, seeing it reach 248.38 million euros. Minister of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure Oleg Butković said at the time that Croatia Airlines is in the midst of the largest project in its history, the replacement of its entire fleet with new Airbus 220 aircraft. The fleet replacement began back in 2024, is still ongoing and is scheduled to be completed some time in 2027.

He added that the challenges of the transition period, further exacerbated by problems in global supply chains and delays in the production and delivery of new aircraft, have caused additional cost exposure for Croatia Airlines, which has been seen as an enfeebled airline for some time now for an array of reasons.
