Breaking: The Australian government confirmed it is formally reviewing a request from Kyiv to transfer its entire retiring fleet of 22 Airbus Tiger Armed Reconnaissance Helicopters (ARH). This evaluation occurs as the Australian Army begins its transition to the Boeing AH-64E Apache Guardian, with the first six Apaches already delivered to RAAF Base Townsville as of early January. While the Tigers have historically faced criticism for low availability and high sustainment costs, Ukrainian officials believe the aircraft's advanced sensors and 30mm chin mounted turrets would be highly effective in a specialized counter-drone role against Russian loitering munitions.

Old news. Not breaking. And these are the worst helicopters in mankind. They never reached operational combat status in australia.

If you want Ukraine to loose, give them these.

These also will NEVER end up in Ukraine

Australia wants to be part of the solution. Nice. Tiger is capable but high maintenance.

  3. This is a formal request from kyiv. A lot of ungrateful people here for a much more effective system than some current tactics of an assault rifle from a bi plane or much older transport helis. Not doing a lot to help keep opinion high for additional support from my country. We have donated more modern tanks than anyone else at cost to our reserve security. Armchair generals should think about that before mouthing off 🇺🇦🇦🇺

  4. Transferring complex (and logistics hungry) equipment is not always the best way to support Ukraine. However, I would always suggest Ukraine has the final answer if the option is available.

Its great and all, but even if they hand them over, it’ll take, what, 2 years or more for pilot and maintenance training arrangements?

Australia has been part of the solution from the get go. Send the tigers to Ukraine 🇺🇦 🇦🇺

  7. Nice. Maybe not perfect but better then nothing. Thanks to australia.

    Hope its not to expensive

Good. Get rid of them and save my tax dollars from having legacy unused kit in care and maintenance.

  9. I could imagine them being used to combat drones far behind the front lines. Ukraine is already doing this with other helicopters, and the Tiger is fast, has good sensors, and a wider selection of missiles and autocannons.

Maintenance issues aren’t so critical in that scenario.
