  1. “but i went to this nice looking pub called Wetherspoons and it wasn’t nice” – every American member of my family who has visited London in the last decade. Makes me want to scream into the void.

Remember everytime you see an American complain about British food remember their most popular baked beans has as much sugar as triffle.

They have destroyed their taste buds.

Having travelled a fair bit I can totally believe it, there are other cities, such as Tokyo or San Sebastián, with more constancy but they don’t have the variety of food London has.

  4. Suck on that, Paris and New York! Really, we do have a lot of good independent restaurants in the UK and we should be proud of that. Our chains are a letdown but they are in most countries.

It probably is due to the sheer diversity in the capital.

Can probably get almost any national cuisine in London…Like a few months ago I had a Peruvian steak, walked past the restaurant and thought I’d give it a try.

For anyone curious, that’s how they decided this list.
