What fucking province is?! As a “Liberal”, can we just pretend this program doesn’t exist until the government forgets about it? Feels like the easiest way to save a few hundred million dollars for the government.

  2. It’s like this program’s implementation is dead-on-arrival.

Maybe the government will take a hint…naahhh, they still want to court those Quebec votes (right Gary?)

  3. Gary, just let Quebec has its own buy back please. Everyone is happy to see Quebec totally disarmed. Please give them what they want and leave the rest of us alone would you? Anyone who does not feel comfortable can move to Quebec and poly will protect them.

    HOW ABOUT THAT?

Carney multiple provinces already “Take the sign down”, are you still gonna let this file pretend like it is working? Listen to your own speech my friend!

  5. If Carney was decent he’d just scrap the Bill C71, the May 2020 OIC, and all following impositions on law abiding Canadians as a show of good will. He’d win over a ton of people that way.

Quebec will partake happily, and then let thousands of illegal handguns get smuggled across the border 👌

  7. Carney, this is how you save face. You stand to gain more in Canadian unity than you stand to lose in 1 Montreal MP. Afterall, Provost and Trudeau got the government in this mess.

  8. Time to write to our local liberal MPs that now is not the time for this horribly managed and designed program. RPAL and PAL holders are not our enemies. They’re our friends and neighbours.

Time to end this stupid bill.

  9. QC when it comes to legal firearms: *BAN*

QC when it comes to illegal firearms being smuggled through the NY/Vermont border and the rez’s : *SLEEP*

  10. People who keep saying the gun grab is divisive are wrong. We have an outpouring of unity between provinces against the gun grab. NDP or conservative it doesnt matter, they all see this program as a joke and are standing together against it.

The Liberals are sticking to this pointless, wasteful gun buyback because they think it’ll do well with Quebec voters.

And to that, I say that I question the intelligence of any Quebec voter who thinks this gun grab is going to do anything to prevent gun crime. We have extortion gangs shooting up businesses with illegal handguns but no, let’s target the well-vetted, legal gun owners because some of their guns look kinda scary

This is just such a slam-dunk easy win for “fiscal conservative” Carney to drop that it’s just becoming extremely suspicious.

It’s looking like they literally just do not want us to have access to firearms. If someone has an explanation, be the first.

    – It won’t affect crime rates. Almost all gun deaths are committed with illegal firearms

    – The ban lists are baffling. Prototypes from the 80s and antique M1 Garands and 22LR rifles used to shooting aluminum cans?

    – It’s extraordinarily expensive

    – Police and provinces are saying “yeah right, no”

There is something afoot. Literally no logical explanation has been offered for this nonsense.

  13. Literally just saw this on [whatsyourreceipt.ca](http://whatsyourreceipt.ca) like 10 mins ago and came here to check if anyone posted it yet. Their province map is interesting – 5 provinces/territories outright rejecting it (AB, SK, MB, YT, NWT), Ontario and PEI leaning against it too because of Toronto Police and Charlottetown refusing. Only Quebec actually supports it. A few still neutral but the opposition is pretty widespread.

  14. People keep calling this gun ban divisive, but man. It seems to be pretty fucking uniting. NDP, Tory, and even LPC behind closed doors, along with an overwhelming number of provinces and now territories, municipalities, and police agencies across the country all asking for this to be shit canned.

What a self own to keep this program going man.

  15. Apples_and_Overtones on

The more provinces/territories that come out against this, the better.

It’s hilariously stupid policy from Trudeau, and now the current gaggle of goons has to deal with it. Could have just cancelled the whole thing, made one particular group of professional victims very mad for like a week and then everyone would have forgotten about it. But no. Instead here we are, wasting money and time but strangely uniting the provinces and territories *against* the federal government, slowly but surely.

  16. So, the same Prime Minister calling for unity is pushing through a program that is apparently opposed by every single province and territory except Quebec?

Stop fighting your citizens at a time when unity is needed. Abandon this program.
