Snowfall currently over the western regions and parts of Jeju Island is expected to expand to Seoul, Gangwon Province and South Gyeongsang Province’s inland areas starting Friday night.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on Thursday, the Jeolla provinces and Jeju’s mountainous regions are expected to see one to five centimeters of snow through Saturday morning.
One to three centimeters of snow is forecast for the Chungcheong provinces and Gangwon Province’s southern areas, while around one centimeter of snow is expected for Seoul and the surrounding area.
Morning lows will range between minus 17 and zero degrees Celsius, while afternoon highs will hover around minus five to six degrees.
Most areas are set to witness strong winds blowing 15 meters per second.
In mountainous areas, winds are forecast to blow 20 meters per second.
