Romania Education Alliance (REA), a national network of private schools in Romania, announced its strategic priorities for 2026: expanding beyond Bucharest and investing more than EUR 10 million in infrastructure, digitalisation, and academic development across member institutions.

REA says it is in advanced discussions with private schools outside Bucharest and Ilfov regarding their accession to the network in 2026. The network is targeting private schools with at least 300 students, stable operational performance, and leadership teams aligned with its focus on student-centred education and international academic standards.

In the medium term, REA aims to integrate more than 15 private schools from major urban centres, including Cluj-Napoca, Timișoara, Brașov, Craiova, Sibiu, Constanța, and Iași, and reach around 5,000 students across the network. Growth is expected to be driven 40% by organic development (expanding capacity on existing campuses) and 60% by onboarding new schools.

Investment plans for 2026

The investment programme planned for 2026, estimated at over EUR 10 million, will be allocated to campus expansion and modernisation, technology upgrades, the development of educational programmes, and advanced teacher training.

“The International Day of Education is not only a moment for reflection, but a call to action. Romania Education Alliance was created from the conviction that educational networks can raise standards at system level through collaboration among professionals. In our first year, we have shown that we can support private schools to grow, invest in modern infrastructure, and offer students an educational trajectory aligned with the most rigorous international standards, while preserving the identity of each school community. In 2026, we are entering a new phase: the national expansion of REA”, says Anca Macovei Vlăsceanu, Co-founder & CEO of Romania Education Alliance.

First-year results

Romania Education Alliance was founded in 2024 by Anca and Dan Macovei Vlăsceanu, together with the investment fund Morphosis Capital, as a platform focused on scaling, investment, and operational development in private education.

In 2024 and 2025, the first two educational brands joined the alliance: Mark Twain International School and Little London International Academy, which operate five campuses in Bucharest and Ilfov. REA reports more than 1,000 students enrolled across member schools, from early childhood to high school, and total revenues of more than EUR 11 million.

Educational model

REA’s model combines the national curriculum accredited by the Ministry of Education with international programmes such as the International Baccalaureate Continuum and Cambridge International Education. According to REA, more than 65% of graduating students from member schools have been admitted to international universities, while the remaining students enrolled in universities in Romania.

What membership includes

According to REA, joining the network provides access to growth capital, infrastructure investment, operational support, and guidance on academic, financial, and administrative management. The alliance also supports accreditation and evaluation processes, curriculum modernisation, and professional collaboration among teachers and education leaders.
