  1. Beijing is actively arming Russian and North Korean troops invasion of Europe.

They don’t give a shit about Greenlands sovereignty, they’re as invested in the collapse of NATO as trump. That’s why they directly platformed propaganda to sow division and get his dumb ass elected.

Trump gonna say -” We have to take control of Canada , if we don’t then China will. We don’t want Chaina as our neighbour “

  3. So…. China wants to support Greenland and prevent the U.S. from taking over Greenland, which supposedly was being done to stop China from taking over Greenland. Got it.

A strong Canada-China relationship could rebuild the stability the world needs. Maybe China is willing to play a little nicer if it means they get partnerships with strong western economies.
The USA has proven that they will do everything we ever feared China would do. It’s crazy to even think that China is a riskier partner than the USA. The American empire is dead, we absolutely should be building relationships with the new top dog.
    Americans can suck it.

China is a danger to its neighbors. Canada is not it’s neighbor, and they tend to project their power within their sphere of influence which both Canada and Greenland are not a part of. That trump spilled some bullshit about china pushing control of Greenland was ridiculously hilarious and delusional. Worked well for maga whose understanding of geography is better than a kindergartner, and even then that’s pushing it.

  6. As a Canadian, I’m actually open to have a Chinese airbase in the country as a deterrent.

Something like what Ramstein airbase in Germany used to be when the USA were supposed to be the good guys…

China is not going to do anything that would in their mind lend illegitimacy to their claim to Taiwan. Of course they would support this and it’s not bad that they do.

  8. This is unreal. Just face it that everything outrageous that the US has been doing lately, China has a pretty long history of, however.. it isn’t being lead by the sum of all vile human traits that the US is.

At this stage China has to only sit back, do next to nothing.. and profit. Countries need stability in trade partners and China has that, stability and predictability.

    Its really depressing.

  9. of course! because China doesn’t want the US to have control. although it is not obvious, but the US and China are competitors from a commerce and midpoint of view.

again, the old saying . . . the enemy of my enemy is my friend . .

  10. It might be a good pairing for Canadian values to inject itself into China’s economy. Perhaps China to has the capacity to do better on their human rights. One could only hope.

criticisms of China as a uniquely evil or dangerous world power has always fallen on deaf ears to me but China is assuredly more respected globally than the United States now. and we have dementia don to thank.

  12. Imagine if we ignite WW3 over Greenland… I am not sure anyone had that in their bingo card.

  13. It only hurt the us. Canada is the only potash supplier. You cant have fertilizer without potash

all we need now is russia to say they support greenland sovereignty and it’s full on bizarro world

  15. The rules based order is so back!

I just didn’t expect “those countries with honourable values we align with” to be China instead of America

    Trump fucking sucks

And I even believe them, to a point. The problem is one of motivation. This isn’t a principled stance: It’s not that China cares one whit about national sovereignty or territorial integrity (hello Taiwan) or abstaining from exploitation of those too weak to protect themselves from it (why hi there Africa, how are you doing?). It’s that they see an opportunity to serve their own interests by punching America in the eye while America is busy punching themselves in the nutsack.

Which, okay… Fair. Who wouldn’t at this point?
