easyJet is set to broaden its network from the UK to Italy and Portugal for the Summer 2026 season. The airline will introduce four new direct links to capture demand for leisure travel and city breaks, coinciding with the strengthening of its operations in northern England.

The Newcastle (NCL) base will receive three new routes operating twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays. The first service to launch will be to Rome–Fiumicino (FCO), scheduled for March 30, 2026. Subsequently, on June 22, the route to Lisbon (LIS) will begin, followed by the debut of the Bari (BRI) service on July 3.

This growth is supported by the formal opening of the airline’s base at Newcastle International Airport, where it will station three Airbus A320 family aircraft. The base opening, originally set for late March, was brought forward to March 22, 2026, to meet demand for the Easter holiday season.

New connections from Manchester

In parallel, the schedule from Manchester (MAN) will add a new direct destination to the Puglia region in southern Italy. The link to Bari (BRI) will start on July 3, 2026, also operating on Mondays and Fridays. This route complements the carrier’s existing offer at one of its most important hubs outside London.

According to a press release from easyJet, these new operations are integrated with its easyJet Holidays division, providing bundled flight and hotel services.

Kevin Doyle, easyJet’s UK Country Director, noted that adding these routes to three of Europe’s most popular destinations provides more choice and connectivity for customers. Celebrating its 30th anniversary, the airline will operate its largest flight schedule to date, offering over 50 million seats to and from the UK, he added.

With these additional cities, the company’s UK network now reaches 22 airports, consolidating its low-cost model in key European markets.
