School Closures | Here’s which Central Texas school districts have announced they will close or delay on Monday

AUSTIN, Texas — Check back to this list throughout the day for the latest closures. 

Freezing rain has caused many Central Texas roads to ice over, impacting school districts in the area. Here are a list of schools in the area that will be delayed or closed on Monday, Jan. 26.

The University of Texas at Austin will remain closed through Monday, Jan. 26. All classes and events are canceled. All UT Austin facilities in Central Texas will be closed. 

ACC campuses and centers are closed on Sunday and Monday, Jan. 25-26, due to ongoing winter weather conditions. No classes, activities or services will be held. 

St. Edward’s University will move to remote operations and virtual (online) classes on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, due to continued winter weather conditions.

In-person labs or clinicals will be moved online, rescheduled or canceled. Faculty of in-person labs or clinicals will contact their students with additional instructions.

Due to winter weather conditions, Texas State University will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026.

All classes on the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses and all online classes are canceled. All university events are canceled and offices will be closed. 

On the San Marcos Campus, Commons and Harris Dining Halls will close at 8 p.m. Sunday night (Jan. 25), and will resume operations from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday. Jones Dining Center will attempt to open at noon weather permitting on Monday; all other dining locations will be closed. University buses will not be running on Monday. 

Housing and Residential Life, police and facilities staff will be available on-site and on-call to maintain building access and emergency needs. 

TXST will continue to monitor weather conditions and will make an announcement no later than 2 p.m. Monday afternoon regarding Tuesday’s schedule.   

All Austin ISD offices and schools will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26.

Due to weather conditions, all schools will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26.

Blanco ISD will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26. A decision about Tuesday will be made on Monday evening.

All Del Valle ISD schools and offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26. All classes, activities and athletics are canceled. At this time, the district will reopen with a normal schedule on Tuesday.

Due to inclement weather conditions, Elgin ISD has canceled school and all events for Monday, Jan. 26. 

Fredericksburg ISD will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26.

Classes in Georgetown ISD will be cancelled on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026. All extracurricular events are also cancelled for Monday.

Harper ISD will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26. Classes will resume as normal on Tuesday.

Hays CISD has canceled school for Monday, Jan. 26. This includes all student activities. However, the school board meeting for Monday night is still set to occur at the normally posted time and location.

At this time, the district is on track for a regular schedule on Tuesday. 

All Hutto ISD school and facilities will be closed on Monday. There will be no classes, activities or practices on Monday, Jan. 26.

IDEA Public Schools Greater Austin Region will be canceling all classes and activities for Monday, Jan. 26, 2026. School officials have not made a decision for Tuesday and plan on doing so by noon on Monday.

All Jarrell ISD campuses are closed on Monday, Jan. 26.

Lago Vista ISD has canceled all classes and activities for Monday, Jan. 26. All district facilities will be closed.

Lake Travis ISD will close on Monday, Jan. 26. All classes, activities and events are canceled for the day. At this time, the district anticipates resuming regular operations on Tuesday, Jan. 27.

Leander ISD schools and facilities will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26, due to continued freezing conditions and hazardous travel concerns. All classes and after-school activities are canceled.

At this time, there are no changes to Tuesday’s school day. The district will share an update with families by 6 p.m. Monday.

Llano ISD will cancel school on Monday, Jan. 26. All student activities are canceled, including the Football Banquet.

All Manor ISD classes and before- and after-school activities are canceled for Monday, Jan. 26. All schools and offices will be closed. Monday’s board meeting has also been canceled.

Mason ISD will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26.

The district will delay the start of school two hours on Tuesday, Jan. 27. School will begin at 10 a.m. and doors will open at 9:30 a.m. Buses will run two hours late.

McDade ISD and all Bastrop-area districts will close for Monday, Jan. 26, 2026.

Due to cold and icy conditions and weather forecasts indicating temperatures will remain below freezing until Monday afternoon, Pflugerville ISD schools and facilities will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26. 

Weather permitting, high school athletic programs may hold voluntary indoor practices on Monday. These practices are limited to varsity teams that are currently in season and may be scheduled between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Each program’s head coach will communicate directly with their athletes regarding whether a voluntary practice will be held.

Rockdale ISD will close all schools in the district on Monday, Jan. 26. The district will provide updates regarding after-school activities through its website, social channels and parent notification system by 12 p.m. on Monday.

All Round Rock ISD classes and before- and after-school activities are canceled for Monday, Jan. 26. All schools and offices also will be closed. 

All San Marcos CISD campuses and offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26. The district closure also includes the cancellation of all extracurricular activities for Monday, Jan. 26.

District officials will continue to monitor weather conditions throughout the day on Monday for any potential issues for Tuesday morning. 

Due to icy weather and hazardous travel conditions, all schools will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026. 

All campuses and district offices will be closed, and all extracurricular activities and sporting events have been canceled or will be rescheduled. 

The district will continue to monitor weather conditions and will communicate updates regarding Tuesday operations by Monday evening.

Burnet CISD will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26. All classes, activities and events scheduled for Monday are canceled. 

All Cameron ISD campuses will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26.

Dime Box ISD will be closed on Monday and have a late start at 10 a.m. on Tuesday due to hazardous weather conditions.

All Dripping Springs ISD classes are canceled, and district offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26. This closure includes all classes, student activities and events. At this time, the regular meeting of the DSISD Board of Trustees, scheduled for Monday, Jan. 26, at 6 p.m., will proceed as planned. 

All Eanes ISD schools, offices and child care centers will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26. All evening activities including athletics, fine arts, campus and co-curricular activities are also canceled.

Florence ISD will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26.

Harmony Public Schools-Central Texas school district will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, including the following schools:

• Harmony Science Academy-Austin
• Harmony Science Academy-Cedar Park
• Harmony Science Academy-Georgetown
• Harmony Science Academy-Leander
• Harmony Science Academy-Pflugerville
• Harmony School of Endeavor
• Harmony School of Excellence
• Harmony School of Innovation
• Harmony School of Science

Headwaters School will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, due to inclement weather.

Due to inclement weather conditions, Hyde Park School Austin will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26. All classes, athletic activities and school-related events are canceled for the day.

The school will resume normal operations pending weather conditions and further communication.

Lampasas ISD is canceling school for Monday, Jan. 26.

Due to continued hazardous weather conditions, Lexington ISD will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026.

Liberty Hill ISD will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26. All on-campus activities are canceled. An update for Tuesday will be shared by 2 p.m. Monday.

Lockhart ISD will close on Monday, Jan. 26. All classes and activities are canceled. The weather-related closure will not require the instructional day to be made up.

The district will continue to monitor the weather and assess conditions to determine operations for Tuesday, Jan. 27.

Regents School of Austin classes are canceled for Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, due to hazardous road conditions. All fine art, academic co-curriculars and athletic activities are also canceled.

Rockdale ISD has decided to close all schools in the district on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026.

Has not announced school closures

St. Mary’s Catholic School in Taylor will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26.

Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired will be closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Concordia University Texas, on-campus and nursing (Austin and DFW locations), will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, out of an abundance of caution due to continued hazardous weather conditions across the region.

Due to icy road conditions and continued freezing temperatures, as a safety precaution, the university is canceling all classes on Monday, Jan. 26. University offices will also be closed.

Texas State Technical College’s Williamson County campus will be closed on Monday due to winter weather.
